Review content:
Please, there are plenty of other jewelers in La Mesa, I recommend you take a look elsewhere. Here's why: I went in to purchase my fiance's engagement ring and we wanted to design our own. No problem. we let them know exactly what we wanted and a few weeks later the ring came in. It turned out that the channel diamonds weren't evenly spaced, the head of the ring was crooked, and there was even excess gold on the base of the head. My fiance and I took the ring back in to show Guy who pushed back saying nothing was wrong with the ring, and it was made the way we requested. He never even saw the ring before I picked it up so I was unsure how one could say the ring was made to our satisfaction after 1 minute of inspection. Eventually he had the ring re-made and when I went in to pick it up the second time, it still wasn't satisfactory. What's funny is one of the other jewelers knew the quality of the first-made ring was sub-par and figured I'd be back! How can you let someone walk out of the store knowing your product is not made up to the customer's satisfaction?! Yikes! My fiance didn't want to have the ring re-made a THIRD time so we ended up picking something that happened to be in the store. She loves the ring, but there was a flaw in one of the diamonds on the channel but I mistakenly kept my mouth shut because I didn't want them to think we were just being nit-picky. Recently we went to Robbin's Bother's to take a look at their wedding bands and the salesmen noticed the flaw in the engagement ring and was so thankful it wasn't a ring from their store. Guy told us it was a great idea to go there to get a feel for what we like due to the fact they have so many rings to choose from. I recently went into Blumenthal's to show them the engagement ring and to look at wedding bands. When I told one of the jewelers to please inspect the engagement ring he immediately became defensive saying it wasn't like that when we bought the ring. Unfortunately it was, like I said, we just kept our mouths shut because of all the issues we had with the previous ring. The next day I get a call from Guy accusing me of switching out the diamond and taking it into their store to get fixed. He told me he would not touch the ring as he could not trust me and told me to take my business elsewhere. He was offended by the fact that I would go to another jeweler even though he told me it was a good idea! Ultimately we did end up taking our business somewhere else and had a pleasant experience. It is quite clear to see how unprofessionally the situation was handled on their part on multiple levels. The owner of this store is nothing but a sleazy salesman who is too thick-headed to admit they sell bad products. This was one of the worst experiences I have had when buying anything, let alone an engagement ring.
