My experience at Maxwell's was absolutely wonderful. My brother, his wife, my sister, my partner and myself gave our mother an entire day of sumptuous pampering for her 2006 Christmas gift. Since this day was a special one, we didn't want to take mom to any run-of-the-mill beauty salon. Maxwell's proved to be the ideal choice. We were first greeted by a very lovely and welcoming receptionist by the name of Shannon. Mom's first appointment at the salon was for a soothing and luxurious manicure with Miss Linda Bui who was fantastic. Our mother was so pleased with Linda's work that she could not stop looking at her hands and feet after they were finished. Mom's next appointment was with Carlos who had a consultation with her first to hear to her concerns and requests. After taking what our mother said into consideration, Carlos began the magical transformation. All the while Carlos was cutting, combing, blowdrying and applying products, he made every effort to make her feel comfortable and satisfied with what he was doing. The smile and very pleased expression on her face said it all...She really liked what Carlos was doing. (So did we!) She was ecstatic with her new look and it took our breath away. I am not lying when I say that it took ten years off of her appearance. Carlos was also very helpful to us by referring us to a wonderful make-up artist by the name of Luis Najar at the Bobbi Brown cosmetics counter in Nordstrom at South Coast Plaza. That was mom's next stop after leaving the salon. (Thanks to Carlos, that too was a smashing success!) The atmosphere at Maxwell's had a positive and warm flow of energy. It was obvious that the stylists, manicurist and receptionist got along with eachother quite well as they chatted, laughed and talked jokingly amongst themselves and with the other clients in the salon.
Pros: Upscale look. Very accomodating staff. Excellent service.
