A long way from home on a Monday afternoon, I needed Indian food and I needed it fast. I'm a frequent visitor to several local spots back home in DC, but can you really get good Indian food in SAN ANTONIO? Surprisingly yes... if you go to India Palace! The staff greeted me at the door with a smile and escorted me to my table right away. I ordered the buffet and was impressed by the variety of hot, fresh, and perfectly spiced menu items including navratan korma, vegetable samosas, tandoori chicken, saag paneer, and baingan bharta to name a few. The kitchen staff were continually bringing out fresh food to restock the buffet as eager customers returned for plate after plate. My server was prompt and friendly, always ready with the water pitcher to refill my glass or to take away my used plates. I enjoyed the ambiance of Indian families eating with their children and the Indian music playing on the television. I ate so much I thought I would have to roll myself out the door! All this for less than ten dollars! I highly recommend India Palace and I will definitely be back for more!!! Pros: Friendly service, amazing food, easy parking, great value Cons: open 11am-2:30pm for lunch and 5pm-10pm for dinner
