Review content:
Although we had reservations, the maitre d' requested a "standing moment" - it was quite worth it as he placed us in a romantic outer table with a view of the reflecting pool. My wife started with a lovely endive salad whose dressing complemented and minimized the bitterness perfectly. I started with the foie gras, which was seared to perfection. We then moved on to the salmon (for her) and the filet mignon with mushroom ragout and chef's potatoes for me. Both were divine! Unfortunately, during the meal my wife became ill (unrelated, I assure you!) and here our waiter really shone. He quickly and graciously boxed up our dishes, even recorking our wine. This really put my wife at ease, who was embarrassed enough to have to make a quick departure. Anton & Michel truly surpassed expectations both on the food and service fronts!
