Businiess name:  Walter's Transfer Moving And Storage

Review content:
DO NOT USE THEM EVER!!! LONG POST BUT WORTH READING!!I had used WALTER'S TRANSFER many times in the past and had been very happy. For my latest move I did not get an estimate since they had just moved all the same furniture only 1.5 years ago. That price had come in around $550 or so. When they showed up the day of the move I assumed it would once again be a very smooth move. At the time I was 6.5 months pregnant and had taken off my wedding rings since my fingers were swollen. I put them in a box in my nightstand along with some other jewelry that morning. I didn't think anything of it 1) I had used them so many times before and 2) There was no reason for anyone to go into that drawer. The move did not go as planned at all. During the day I called the office to express to them that I was confused as to why this move was taking so much longer then the previous one. When I mentioned it to one of the guys working he said it was because it was hot outside and was very defensive. They broke a hat rack which at first I was annoyed but thought things happen when you move. At the end of the day we ended up paying almost $1000 for the move and the hat rack which they had attempted to fix had been just left outside and was still broken. That evening I was looking for an ottoman cover that they had taken off and it was nowhere to be found. Before I went to bed I looked in my nightstand and was devastated to see that my little jewelry box was nowhere in sight. I tore that night stand apart looking for it, nothing! There is no question where the box and my rings were. I had not taken out the extra insurance with company because I trusted them...my mistake. When I called the next morning I was told that this had never happened before and that they could send someone out to fix my hat rack, they would look in the truck for the ottoman cover and ask their guys about the rings. I did file a police report and they were all questioned but none admitted taking the jewelry. It took forever to get my hat rack fixed and I had to chase them down to get that done. The guy that had taken off the ottoman cover had no idea where he had put it. We randomly found it in a side table where he had just shoved it. I filled out the claim form for them but every time I asked who the insurance company was they would not tell me. My claim was denied and it was only by my own investigation that I found out who the insurance company is. All I ever got from them were statements like, "Wow this has never happened before". This experience has been horrific and the way it was handled was even worse. In the letter I received from the agent they stated that they had spoken to the guys and none of them knew anything about the jewelry. Shocking!!!! So I ended up paying way more then expected, had something broken, something misplaced and my most precious JEWELRY GONE. I love the fact that we actually tipped these guys to do all this! Be careful using them!! They are only as good as the guys they hire and all I can say is this crew was awful and they stood behind them.
