Review content:
During my visit to Los Angeles, I read several reviews before deciding to go eat at Ulysses Voyage. I was mainly looking for a greek restaurant with live music since I love Greek music. The reviews I had read didn't rave much about the quality of the food, but I thought I give it a try anyway, if not for the food, perhaps to enjoy the music. The restaurant is divided into two rooms, unfortunately for us, we got seated in the back room. The musicians were in the front. We could bearly hear them. I would suggest they hood up their amplifier to the speakers they aready have in both rooms. My husband ordered the chicken gyro and I, the roast leg of lamb. Honestly, I have had much better gyros at any small joint at a mall food court. The chicken had no taste, very bland. The potatoes deffinitely need some salt, pepper, garlic, olive oil and perhaps a hint of oregano. (your get the idea.) The lamb, very dry. It seemed as if they overcooked it. The sauce or juice was tasty but the meat, forget about it, for $25 a plate deffinitely not worth it. I could do a much better job cooking this meal and I'm not greek. The only two things we loved was the appetizer we ordered "Saganaki" and the Baklava we ordered for dessert. OH, by the way the coffee was delicious. Pros: Server was great. Good place for coffee and dessert Cons: They have a $15 minimum so you'd have to order 2 desserts.
