Review content:
This place is a complete rip off. My daughter just entered band and we bought a second hand trumpet (privately) for $200. When I rang Strait Music to enquire how much it would cost to get it cleaned they quoted me $30 on up. So the next day I duly brought it in only to be told it would be $65 PLUS $6 for every individual part and valve. This is frankly RIDICULOUS and WAY too money to charge to clean a fairly simplistically designed student trumpet. I explained (for the 2nd time) that the trumpet itself only cost me $200 and that surely they could work with me on price. They couldn't have been less interested. Because they've got the monopoly and there are very few places around that clean band instruments unless you want to drive all the way to Round Rock, which I'm unable to do - they've basically got you by the short and curlies and they know this. So their attitude is either you pay what they want you to pay or you can get stuffed. This is the complete attitude of everyone there I spoke to. Looks like we're going on YouTube and looking at tutorials of how to clean it ourselves!
