Review content:
I have been a customer of Great Harvest for years. Their products are unbeatable. There's always something new whenever I stop by. My absolute favorite bread is their Dakotah bread. It is a wheat bread FULL of different seeds. Poppy, pumpkin, sunflower and I THINK caraway. At any rate, this is not a bread for sissies!!! You will fill up quickly and just KNOW you've eaten something healthy.
When you enter the shop you are greeted quickly and offered a sample. As I said, since there's ALWAYS something new, the samples are a great way to find out what might be of interest.
We visited on Nov 3rd, to find out what items they would have available for Thanksgiving. The gentleman was ever so helpful. He spoke a bit about the items. I mentioned that the bread I was sampling that day (an AMAZINGLY delicious White Chocolate Cranberry dessert bread) was not on the daily rotation for the day I needed to pick my order up. He said I could buy it ahead of time and freeze it. I would not have thought to freeze this type of bread, and I am so glad now that I can do this.
We live a bit out of town, so having the ability to buy more than a loaf or two is very appealing to us.
They have many more items as well. Gift items, teas, honey, scones (cinnamon chip are my favorite), we first started shopping here when my son was much younger and was diagnosed with an allergy to corn products. Almost all commercially prepared "YUMMYS" contain corn syrup, and this was a place where I could be delicious and HUGE cookies for him without aggravating his allergy.
When you go, there is a list to take home of their daily rotations and there is also a customer loyalty card offered. Free bread earned just for doing what we love anyway. EATING THIS BREAD.
I feel very good about serving this to my family. My kids get excited when I even bring the bag in the house.
OH, there is a garlic cheese bread loaf that is to DIE for with spaghetti or other italian food.
As you can see I cannot say enough good things about this shop. I included the corporate website, which lets you know some of their philosophies, but Ic an also assure you that the staff at this local shop are friendly, helpful, and often amusing to visit with.
GOOD EATS
