My sons computer had been performing slow ever since he hit puberty. I called and had an EasyTech Repair Technician come out and repair the PC. We paid over $250 for this service and within a weeks time we had the same problem again. I had asked the tech to lock down the computer so he couldn't create this issue again by his surfing. He assured me that he wouldn't be able to access those type of sites and we were good. I called and spoke to someone regarding having them come back out and fix what the failed to do the first time. The manager reacted very rudely and seemed insulted that I suggested they had not been successful the first time the came out. At this point I was angry as hell so I am requesting a charge back through my financial institution because the geek squad manager refused to give me my money back. I was then left with finding an alternative. But I didn't want to be ripped off agin so I did some research into a repair company before choosing one. I finally settled upon a remote service, called Secure Remote Support (SRS). We paid them a small fee and had a rep remove the virus at once. It was faster than it took me to watch one episode of Fox news. I know that teenage boys, will be boys while on their internet but I needed to feel safe that he wasn't trying to download illegal files or looking at things that could damage the rest of the computer we have here in our home. So I had asked the SRS tech what he recommended for such a situation. He suggested a security application to prevent viewing of certain websites with questionable content and a solid anti-virus program. He told me that they offered a service to install and configure these applications. And being that I am not computer literate at all I had them go to town on it. In just a short time the tech had locked down my sons computer so that I could feel safe that he wasn't poisoning his prepubescent mind or my network any longer. lol. Thanks again guys for making a bad experience better.
