Review content:
I went to this store to send out invitations. They were a bit large (but normal weight), so I expected to pay an extra 17 cents for that. I was told they will cost 80 cents each (stamps were still 41 cents). I said "Wow, really?" The clerk said "Yes, it's the size." I didn't want to make a big deal so I just paid. I went back the next week to send an additional 4 invitations - exact same size, exact same weight. The same clerk told me the cost was now $1.20 each! I said "Wait, I was just here last week and they were only 80 cents each." So he looked up my purchase from the week before and said "Oh, you are right." So I paid the 80 cents for each one. A few weeks passed. I heard from the guest of honor several times that "so and so didn't get their invitation." I confirmed the addresses; they were all correct. I had put a return label on each one; they were never sent back. A total of FIVE people did not receive their invitations. The guest of honor asked that I re-send one of them, so I decided to do it from my office. I put 4 stamps on the invitation. My receptionist buzzed me later to say "the postal lady is here and says your invitation only needs ONE stamp." I was furious so I called the store. The clerk said "We charge a mark up." I said "Really, you charge nearly a 100% mark up?" He responded, well it depends on the size and anyway, all of my customers know I do this." Me: "Really, well you didn't tell me and what you are doing is misleading to the public and illegal." He ultimately offered to re-send the invitations without a mark-up. Thanks, but no thanks. There is a real post office in the pharmacy across the street, they just have limited hours and offer less services. I have never posted a review about a store before, so no, I am not just a generally disgruntled customer. I just felt that this was egregious and that people should be aware of the store's practices.
