Review content:
I met Dr. Jackson while she was at an animal hospital in Humble, TX. She is far and away the most caring and professional vet I have ever known (and I have been through a lot of them.) We took my lab-mix Bear to see Dr. Jackson one night in 1998 after he ran into me and looked to have swelling on his head. After discussing his history with Dr. Jackson she thought that perhaps he had Masticatory Myositis. A biopsy later, we found our 2-yr old lab did have it. We began a series of predisone which we eventually weaned him off of once the symptoms disappeared.********** We had been through so much with our poor Bear, multiple visits to vets and emergency hospitals. In the 2 short years prior to meeting Dr Jackson, he was treated for every thing from colds, to flues and every conceivable allergy. Dr. Jackson went beyond the easy 'medicate and send them packing' attitude that is so pervasive in most vets today, she truly saved our beloved Bear.********** Bear is now 10, and as he has moved from regular to senior dog food, the symptoms have returned, and so has the prednisone, which we are told will be part of his diet from here on out. The good news is that bear is happy, something he never truly was as a puppy because of the pain of his condition. He only started going white in the past year, and can still run and play when he is inclined (which was never that much to begin with.)
Pros: Dr. Jackson
Cons: I moved out of state, and can't take dogs there now.
