I am so upset with this place, that I'm having trouble mourning the loss of our dog. I believe that based on the treatment received from this place that we kept our 15-year old shepard/collie mix alive about a year too long and at a huge cost. When we brought him in a year ago to be euthanized, the Dr. persuaded my husband to run tons of tests (upwards of $700.00 for that visit alone) and to medicate the dog (for arthritis and a slight thyroid issue) at a cost of about $5.00/day. Then run more tests periodically to see if his liver and other vital organs could handle the medications. Last night my husband finally brought the dog in to be euthanized and was charged over $300.00!! A few months ago a friend brought his dog in to another vet to be euthanized and it was $80.00. A few years ago, my (since retired) vet came to my house on a holiday weekend, with an assistant, euthanized our old dog, took him away, had him individually cremated and returned the ashes in a lovely rosewood box....all for $90.00!! I called All About Pets this morning to see if they would lower the bill at all and they were unwilling to do so. I'd avoid this place at all costs. He's the vet for our local Petsmart. I guess it's okay to charge these prices for a corporation, but for an individual it's ridiculous. I won't be shopping at Petsmart either as a result of this experience. Pros: None that I'm aware of Cons: Primarily the cost; especially disgraceful when you're already upset about your dying pet
