Review content:
Rod looked at my car, right at the end of his day, when he could have easily said "come back in the morning" (which is exactly what several other mechanics said less than 30 minutes before). I had just driven down to Bellingham, going to New Mexico, on my way back from Alaska, so I needed help right then. My car was making an awful crunching noise whenever I went over a bump. It sounded like the wheels were going to come off. Rod quickly diagnosed the problem as a lose shock (I had just had another shop in Anchorage replaced both my shocks and struts). He pulled a wrench off his shelf, tightened one bolt on each side and bam, good as new. I offered to pay, but Rod declined, wishing me a safe trip. Many other mechanics would have taken full advantage of my predicament. Not Rod. One word: Honest.
