Review content:
I was both a little surprised and expectant of some of the negative reviews posted regarding Dr. Glasser. I can only speak of my personal experiences with the Steinway Court Vet staff. They have been mostly positive. I can understand that someone who expects their vet to douse their pet with the same love and affection that they themselves provide will not find Dr. Glasser warm and fuzzy. However, he is efficient and effective. And to me, that is really more important. I have been bringing my cat to him for the past nearly 4 years as he came highly recommended from several people who came to him only after having bad experiences with other vets in the surrounding Queens vicinity. I don't expect him to get all lovey dovey with my cat, just as I don't expect my doctor to be that way with me either. Someone has to be the objective voice here. He has given my cat top quality care. Yes, he stresses dental cleaning but that is because animals, like humans, need to have healthy and clean teeth. Many diseases can initiate with poor oral care. I see it as preventive treatment. Is it expensive? Yes, it is. But his prices are comparable to other vets in the area. He has personally returned my phone calls within a few hours whenever I have called with a question. Moreso, his office has always accomodated me within 12 or so hours in emergencies. Dr. Glasser never seemed rushed when I brought my cat in. But he's efficient. He tells me what needs to be done, what he thinks the problem is and then if necessary, he phones me personally in case she needs extra treatment and quotes me a price before he administers it. Health care is expensive for us people and for our pets too. I dislike shelling 400-500 bucks every 6 months for wellness exams and dental cleanings but I want my cat to be healthy and be around for a long time. Otherwise, why have a pet if you can't care for him/her just like you would for yourself?
