Review content:
I recently relocated out of the Raleigh area and received a relocation package. The package included an offer to purchase my home. The relocation company has the home appraised to determine the offer price. The goal of the relocation company is to pay as little as possible for the home. Therefore the appraisers they allow you to chose from are those that have a pattern of calculating very low prices. Not having any information to base my decision on, I chose Perkinson and Associates as one of the appraisers from the list provided. The appraisal I received was inaccurate as to the details of the property. More importantly, it was extremely negative. When comparing the home to other recent sales and listings, the appraiser always assumed best case for the other homes and worst case for my own. The provided value was over 15% lower than the sales price suggested by my real estate agents.
