Review content:
I have been going to this vet for many years and have mostly dealt with the son, Michael Kay. Unfortunately when my dog became ill, Michael Kay was in Europe, so I had to have the father, James Kay take care of my dog. She was very sick and had to have surgery. A simple surgery turned into a second surgery because something was missed. I was told the second surgery would have another doctor assist. I was assured she would be fine and sent home and told not to come back for 10 days. After a long weekend of the dog being in pain and discomfort, which I was not given meds, because I was told it was not needed. Come Monday morning, the dog had yet more complications. You'd think 2 surgeons could do a surgery correctly. I was told more tests were needed and I'd get a phone call shortly to be assessed of the situation. After 2 phone calls and 5 hours later, I was told a third surgery was performed....WITHOUT my knowledge I might add and also WITHOUT a follow up phone call!! At this point I was in contact with a different doctor ready to have another opinion, I was NOT intending on confirming to a third surgery, but since I was never informed, I did not have the choice!! I was told to pick her up later that day and to bring her in the following morning for a follow up. Instead of bringing me into a private room to go over post op instructions or to bring me my dog, instead, the dog was brought to me in the lobby and that was it!! No further discussions with Dr. James Kay! I took my dog to another vet the following morning and things were not good at all. It has been a downward spiral since. She is very sick and is now in need of a 4th surgery in less than 2 weeks time because of internal bleeding. How can 3 surgeries be done so poorly? This is a very small dog I might add and I'm not sure she will make it. I will NEVER bring another living animal to this hospital. I hope and pray anyone reading this review will also avoid this vet at any cost, possibly at the cost of your animals life!!
