Businiess name:  Trombley Tire & Auto
Review by:  Caryn M.
Review content:
Ok, it's fairly obvious that I don't know a lot about car stuff. A mechanic I trust pointed out a problem with my (bearings, I think?) that was wearing out the inside of the back drivers' side tire. He recommended I go to Trombley Tire & Auto in Geneva, NY. I made an appointment for 3pm the next day, I showed up on time, and they said they wouldn't even be able to get it in for another hour. I took my son for a nice walk through downtown Geneva and when I returned the guy called me over so he could "discuss what they found". He handed me a piece of paper with the estimate it would cost to repair my van. The problems were: 1) the estimate was triple what I was quoted over the phone 2) there was nothing on the estimate about the back drivers side tire. 3) this estimate listed a number of things in the front end, and even I knew there had been nothing wrong in that end. When I asked about the original problem I was there for, he shrugged and added $200 to my estimate. So, I took the van to another tire service center in Canandaigua where the problem was fixed for under $100. They also were kind enough to doublecheck and confirm my suspicions that there was nothing wrong on the front end. Like I said, I don't know a lot about car stuff but I do know a scammer when I see one. See that one star? Take it off, they don't even deserve that much. I told the mechanic about this and he admitted I was the 3rd female to complain about shady behavior at Trombley, so he will no longer be recommending them. Good.
