Businiess name:  Westedge Cycle

Review content:
I had Rob Westergard of Westedge Cycle, Anacortes WA do a 36,000-mile service on my 2006 BMW K1200LT motorcycle. The day I brought my bike in for service Rob informed me that he was not familiar with my bike and the one-day turn-around I could expect from a Certified BMW Motorcycle Mechanic would take him two days. Due to Rob’s reputation and looking for an alternative to driving to Seattle for motorcycle service I agreed to have Rob start doing service on my motorcycle. Upon picking my bike up from Westedge Cycle, it quickly became apparent that Rob was correct. Rob was not familiar with my bike! When I went to fuel for the first time post-service I was unable to completely open my fuel access compartment. Rob reinstalled my motorcycle cover incorrectly. I went back to Rob with this problem and he did fix it by forcing the rubber dam material that was blocking the door from opening, back into place with a screwdriver. I keep a fuel log, as a lot of people do, and realized that I was experiencing a 6.9% mpg fuel economy drop within the first 1,500 miles post-service at Westedge Cycle. Since I take great pains and expense, $900.00 for this service, to keep my motorcycle running in top condition I contacted Rob to see if maybe the fuel mixture might be running too ‘rich’. I was hoping the fuel mixture could be adjusted by a simple turn of a screwdriver. Rob told me that keeping a fuel log was absurd, and demanded that since I was worried about a drop of fuel efficiency after his service, that I should take my bike elsewhere and then hung the phone up on me. HE ACTUALLY HUNG THE PHONE UP ON ME! I learned my lesson. Even though Rob might have his business plastered with BMW Motorrad signs and have his website loaded up with BMW motorcycle photos, giving you the impression that he’s a BMW motorcycle mechanic … there is no replacement for a Certified BMW Motorcycle Mechanic!
