The thing I value most with any service provider is for things to be thoroughly explained. I'm interested in why a service needs to be performed, and what the risks are. With a chimney sweeper, I want to know how carbon accumulates inside the fireplace, and where, as well as what things are important to remediate.
I like to know the why, and not just trust what I'm being told. A-1 Chimney and Service were able to answer all of my questions and satisfy my concerns. Also, they didn't resent me asking the questions. I used them to clean two chimneys in my home so I could convert them to a gas system. I found them online, and this was the first time I had used them. You run a huge risk of fire if you burn wood and don't have your chimney cleaned--a lot of people don't know that. A-1 did their job as I expected them to.
