Businiess name:  Carpet to Go

Review content:
I was not certain how to go; hardwood floors or carpet. Even though I live near a big chain store, I decided to go elsewhere. I found Carpet To Go in Shoreline online, before I went into the store, I read the online reviews. There were quite a few good reviews, which helped us to decide to give them a try, and see if we liked what we saw. So, I gave them a call. I spoke to Tom, and he was so incredibly knowledgeable over the phone. He encouraged me to come into the store. So my husband and I went in and met with Tom in person. The store was quiet, professional and even kind of warm in a way. It was very easy to talk to Tom, and we did talk for a great deal of time. He wanted to discuss what our needs were and he had many great suggestions. He told us what the difference was between the various carpets. It's difficult to know what to do for laypeople like us, but he really helped us figure it out. There was a carpet that we really liked and it was on sale, so we went with it. Tom gave us an estimate of what the total cost would be, to help give us an idea of what to expect. He was extremely knowledgeable, he gave us the facts and let us decide, there was no pushiness at all. An estimator came out and he was very fast, efficient and nice. The estimate was higher than the estimate Tom had given us, but that was okay because there ended up being more square footage than he'd expected. However, Tom called and apologized about the difference, which I thought wasn't necessary but was very nice of him to do. He worked hard to get the cost of the carpet down with the company that manufactured the carpet to get it at a good price for us. I really liked that he went the extra mile for us. Unfortunately, the weather kept our carpets from coming in right away. Tom kept us informed and I really appreciated how well he handled it. Of course it wasn't his fault that our carpets were stuck on the passes, but still he made every effort to make sure our order came through. When the installers came, it was like putting a cap on the very excellent service we'd been experiencing from the start. As I was showing the main guy upstairs what the job would be, the two other men were downstairs already working to move the furniture around and ripping up the old carpet. It was a big job, it's a 3-story house and they had to also do the stairs too. I thought it would take all day, so I chose to leave for the day. They started at 10am, and finished at 3pm. I was amazed when I came home and everything was finished. It was gorgeous. I was astonished that I had left it one way and come home to a home that was totally changed. The carpets were perfectly laid out. I also really like that it's a local company, family-owned and run store. I think in this day and age when everything is becoming so corporate America, that the quality is really lacking at the bigger named chains. Yes, I feel like it may be cheaper to go elsewhere, but not really in the long run. Also, I've seen the work big companies do, and it's pretty shady in comparison. Our previous carpet had been installed by a bigger chain, and there were lumps in it with no explanation. I felt that everything about Carpet To Go was so professional, I was able to talk to and trust everyone I spoke to at the company, and I truly felt like we were in good hands. Without hesitation, I'd go back to them for any future work we need, and I would highly recommend them to anybody who asks!
