I have a 1974 Dodge Monaco That I love to drive. During the summer of 2008, I was driving it to work. As I approached a stop light I pushed in the brake pedal. I quickly realized that the brakes had malfunctioned, the pedal went to the floor effortlessly. Thinking quickly and thankful that traffic was light, I drove around a car stopped at the light and made a right hand turn. I knew that if I had to I could apply the emergency brake to stop. I drove toward Brownsburg Muffler and Service. After stopping at one traffic light using the emergency brake I approached the shop. I coasted into the parking lot of Brownsburg Muffler and Service and employed the emergency brake behind the shop. Before I said a word as I walked through the door. The service person behind the counter commented that I was having brake trouble. After the work order was written up another service person drove me home. To my amazement I was called within two hours. The head mechanic informed me that they would have to replace the master cylinder and bleed the brake system. After receiving an more than reasonable estimate, I told him to do the work. I was astounded when I received another call, later that day, and told that my vehicle was ready. The bill for labor and repairs was even less than the price quoted over the phone. I now take my vehicles to Brownsburg Muffler and Service any time they need maintenance.
