Businiess name:  Ridgefield Hardware
Review by:  Marie B.
Review content:
You probably went to this type of hardware store with your dad or grandfather. Right on the corner of Main Street in Ridgefield, Ridgefield Hardware is a step back in time, the local hardware store that had everything you need. However, Ridgefield Hardware also has a really good selection of what you need, so don't overlook it because it's not the size of a Home Depot or Lowe's. You can find what you need for that home repair--and even great things you didn't know you needed--right here in Ridgefield. Since we live in downtown Ridgefield, I can attest that there have been plenty of times we needed just a little something--painter's tape, a certain size of nail, a little more caulk, or even a tub stopper--to finish a project. I walked up the street, picked up what I needed, and walked back. What a pleasure, especially compared to a 30 to 40 minute roadtrip to a huge superstore where they couldn't care less what I need. At Ridgefield Hardware Store, you're guaranteed to have good service, which is worth a trip all by itself. And the store "mascot", Otis, is a tiny dog who is famous in his own right. He even had a campaign to be city manager (a position since won by the more qualified George Fox). How many big hardware stores have a mascot you can pet for a few minutes? :) In addition, Ridgefield Hardware somehow manages to keep a wide range of really interesting things, like beautifully crafted weather vanes and seasonal flags for the outside of your home. I've found great holiday decorations and even dishes there. It's just a super bonus from a great local store.
