Took my car to Sterling as recommended by my insurance.Car needed a decklid, bumper, spoiler, and a slight subframe alignment.I was told initially that they would get right on it, and if they couldn't get right on it they would transfer to another less busy location....estimate took 6 days. Was also told they would contact me every 3 days to update me. They called me 4 times in a span of 7 weeks. I told them initially that I grew up around and working on cars,so the standard would be high in my case. They had numerous part delays due to not being thorough in the teardown and cataloging/ordering all the parts that would be replaced. I ended up sourcing the vinyl graphic on the quarter panel that they removed that their so highly spoken of graphic guy couldn't duplicate. Didn't need to be removed at all,no damage there. They patched my tire due to a screw they ran over on the shop floor. Replaced the rocker molding because some careless worker screwed it up...same goes for the front valance. The only real bright spot was the paint...it was a near perfect match. On dark blue metallic that takes some skill. Sadly the finishing guys with their buffers screwed that up entirely. They burned through 6-8 areas due to lack of skill, lack of integrity, or both....not to mention they swirled the paint horribly, including both quarter panels which didn't need buffing. They buffed all the parts on the car and didn't tape anything off by panel,so they got compounding dust in every crevice on the back half. On two occasions I stopped by unannounced to see the car to find it absolutely filthy inside and out. Somehow a 30 minute oil change mandates covering the seat and carpet, but a 7 week stay @ Sterling does not. I ended up taking the car unsatisfied, having come to the conclusion that their standard is very low,and realizing that every correction would likely have additional damage as a byproduct...careless. I contacted Allstate and arranged to have the trunk aligned elsewhere, and will spend 3-4 hours fixing buffing poor finish work.
