AAH provides a valuable service and for the most part, I've been relatively satisfied with the care we've received over the last 8 or so years. \r

The problem, as has been cited heavily here, is their insultingly cavalier attitude toward costs. They're very vague about what things are going to cost until you get the final bill for services rendered and then you have no choice but to sign for a $3,000 bomb in your credit card bill. I was stunned when the receptionist was saying, okay we're going to just put the low estimate figure on your credit card and it was $2,500! \r

And this is a trend spanning several years. I went in a few years ago with an 18 year old cat who was clearly at the end of its life. I brought her in to have her put to sleep but the vet was really pushing all of these further tests. "Let's try a couple things first" and it wasn't until afterward that I realized these couple things were going to add more than a thousand dollars to my bill. And in the end, my cat was
