I have brought two ferrets to Alexandria Animal Hospital for emergency visits and was very pleased with their care. My vet, who specializes in ferret care, also recommends this hospital for after-hour emergencies. The staff were very kind and the technicians appeared to be knowledgeable about handling ferrets. One ferret was very ill from a delayed vaccine reaction (administered by a vet that was not knowledgeable about ferrets) and he rapidly and fully recovered after they treated him. Their prices are similar to another emergency vet I have used in Rockville, MD (that does not treat exotics) and they were happy to complete my VPI insurance forms so that I could get reimbursed for the cost of care.
