I found St Tom's when I moved across country to take a job at Purdue. I knew no one in town, so I was happy to find a parish that is welcoming to newcomers. As the Newman Center at Purdue, welcoming new folks (like students and faculty) is a way of life for them. However, the parish is much more than Purdue-ites. There are folks who have been in the parish since the 1950's as well as families with young children. The building itself is austere, but the people are not. Because Purdue attracts students from around the world, the assembly includes people from around the world. The music is great too: a lot of post-Vatican II plus some of the good old favorites for those special seasons.
