Broward County Animal Care and Adoption is in Fort Lauderdale just across from the Fort Lauderdale Airport. This is the shelter for Broward County, which means take in stray dogs and cats or animals who were surrender by the owners for whatever reason. The staff and volunteers work very hard for the shelter to be a nice, inviting place to adopt a pet. On any day, there is a wide variety of dogs, puppies, cats and kittens available for adoption. If you want to save a little time, I'd recommend going to the Broward County Animal website and downloading the adoption application. Sometimes things get really busy at the shelter, which is good because this means lots of people are adopting a new pet, but can create a little bit of a wait. Shelter dogs are the best, and they really do know you are saving them. I highly recommend checking out the county shelter when looking for a new pet.
