The first thing we were taught was self control, nothing was left out of my training i still just don't understand why punches are not allowed. The thing is your bit handing a child a "loaded gun" if the child can control their self. The instructor has knowledge in what he does but it seems he's let himself slip I went back to my tae Kwan do class and even talked to a guy that does Shito ryu in E-town and he said he knew all about that school and how students came there from shaolin kenpo karate and they needed a lot of work, as far as rank bottom line I've don't martial arts scince I was 12 years old I 100% earned my rank with broken bones hard work detication and GOOD INSTRUCTION A D TECHNIQUES that work. It saved my life twice in Afghanistan. No other school insulted me and told me I couldn't wear my rank, HOWEVER I had the color stripe based on the color belt level I was in that school, right next to my 1st Dan stripe
