Businiess name:  Hotel Charlotte Restaurant

Review content:
There are fewer and fewer owner/family run "mom and pop joints" left. These places are where you really get the very best food, atmosphere, and service. It is because the owners are there usually all the time and their life saving and income are from the food and service the clients get. It is where you get the real sincere and heartly ment "how are you doing and welcome back" attitudes. The servers are usually much better than what you normally get even in a upper end chain. The chains are killing these great American places and we need to get back in support of the backbone of American bistros. I have been coming to Hotel Charlotte since 1984 and would rather eat here than at Mortons, Nobles or whatever other tilt your nose back over rated by high end ad agencies advise us on. This is a great place to entertain formally or casually. I have not had all the entrees but what I have ordered was wondeful and made to order. Another place of this type is Amalfi Harbor Restaurant in Greensboro - no finer northern Italian place in the south. Try it out and it also will become "home" to you as Hotel Charlotte is to me when I come to Charlotte several times a month on business. Intro yourself to Steve the owner and he will make your lunch or dinner fun. This is also a wonderful place for drinks with friends late night or watching a game during the day. You can even keep your own beer stein there which is etched with your nickname and special quick story - they are fun to read going back to the restrooms :) Keep smiling and GO HERE !! Pros: Great food - great value - FUN Cons: No rooms - it really is not a hotel
