I went PF because I have family that goes here, against the advice of other friends... I have an independent personal trainer, and wanted to make sure I was allowed to bring him as my guest. I called and specifically asked if that was allowed or if I had to use their free trainers (who are subpar). The girl on the phone said "sure that's no problem as long as you have guest privileges and don't just try to bring him in for free" So that evening I saw a girl I went to high school with who happens to be the manager or franchisee(?) and casually mentioned that I was excited to finally have a PT. She immediately said "oh I'm sorry we don't allow outside PTs here." to which I immediately responded that I had been specifically told only hours before that was perfectly acceptable. She then wanted to know who I talked to so she could "chew them out" VERY unprofessional to say that to a customer rather than "oh I need to make sure she is aware of our policies" or something to that effect. The fact that they don't allow ind. PTs is understandable, but my cousins fiancée had spent two months very blatantly training my aunt and other cousin right in front of employees and never once did anybody mention this was not allowed. My aunt and myself have both seen many people with their own PTs up there as well. Inconsistency is a big no-no for me. Cancelled membership and joined another gym that has no problem with my PT.
