Review content:
In 2011 I went to Ricks Auto in Cortland Ohio to have an alternator replaced, after 90 days the alternator was no longer charging my battery and the alternator had less than 3,000 miles on it. The garage offered to repair it free of cost. When I took my vehicle in they repaired my alternator along with $300 worth of work that I did not approve. This work included putting on a brand new alternator that had a CRACK IN IT!!! I would have never noticed the crack in the alternator if I did not have a complete oil change in which a different mechanic noticed when he was doing something with the oil pan. Upon this discovery I immediately took the vehicles back to Ricks Auto and the woman who is the receptionist and the wife was talking to someone about a person who had died who had instructed her in the ways of spirituality and pointed around the office to all of the religious relics. After finally acknowledging my presence she then became extremely unfriendly and we discussed the issue at hand. This woman then accused me of purposely cracking my own alternator and then driving it damaged to try to ruin my vehicle. This was preposterous, why would anyone do that! After much arguing she finally agreed to replace the alternator and began talking to an employee behind the desk about how some customers are just not worth valuing. After the work was completed I was told the alternator and the work was good for one year. It has been less than one year, my alternator has once again failed to provide my vehicle with power and the garage is refusing to honor their work. I was then told by a mechanic that they NEVER use new parts, all parts are REFIRBISHED and that I was not eligible for the mistake to be corrected upon providing my original receipt. In today’s tough economy if you enjoy wasting money then Rick’s Auto is definitely the place for you, otherwise I would strongly suggest going to a reputable garage.
