Review content:
As literally a lifelong customer of Cenan's, it saddens me to write this review.
Cenan's has the best cakes in town. I don't argue that. What irks me is their service.
For my birthday this year, we ordered not one but two Cenan's cakes of different flavors. That's how much I like their bakery. Unfortunately, one of the cakes had parchment paper still left inside of it, a fact we did not discover until we cut and served it to all my friends and family and people took a bite and ate the paper.
I immediately called Cenan's and spoke to a manager who was apologetic but said he had no authority to do anything about it and asked me to call back the next day and speak to the owner. From then on, it was a series of run around calls shuffling me off to different people within the bakery. Some were apologetic, others were downright insulting - one girl even implied I lied about it saying they didn't use paper in the bakery and I must be mistaken. After three days of claiming the owner would be in soon or that I just missed him, I finally made the trip back and brought my evidence demanding a resolution. As a long time customer, I tried to be understanding and simply asked for a refund. The lady who helped me was nice about it but others in the bakery muttered, "Well, you ate it anyways didn't you?" Seriously unacceptable.
All in all, a terrible experience. I don't know if the owner was even aware of the issue or he just chose to ignore it but I got no help from the rest of the staff. They clearly didn't even take it seriously because not one person asked for my name during the 3 days and 15 phone calls. Again, it saddens me to say this but beware of trusting Cenan's if you have a major event - their service is simply no good.
If I could attach a picture of the cake with paper in it, I would.
