This is a group of some of the best orthos in New Haven - although it is a very busy practice with a long wait to get in for an appointment. Daigneault is a foremost shoulder surgeon who major sports team consult with, he actually develops new shoulder techniques constantly. He is gentlemanly and kind. For such a big deal doctor, I could not believe how much time he spent with me. He outlined exercises that strengthen the shoulder in 80% of patients so that they might not need surgery after all. Sumner does neck reconstruction on some major problems. Apparently, as I learned on one appointment, a person can actually have their head come off the top disks in their neck and still be attached via the spine, but need to be placed back with the vertabrae. He does stuff like that. I like that they do not rush you into a surgery unnecessarily and that they offer PT on premise. The Physical therapists at other facilities all say these guys are great.
