Review content:
I went to the ER because I had a kidney infection. I was triaged and put in the "quick treatment" room, right inside the locked door. (Am not sure if that's exactly what those rooms were called, but it was anything but quick. After approximately 3 hours w/o any water I snuck out to the waiting room and bought myself something to drink from the vending machine. Approximately 5 hours later an IV was established in my arm, right where it bends btw...didn't even try to find another place to start it. The admitting physician wrote an order for another IV bag to be hung i believe in 12 hours, which was gone undone. I was supposed to be there for only 23 hours. Because of the nurse's neglience my fever spike to 103, and needless to say I had to spend another day in that awful place. My call lights were rarely answered. Was never approached to see if I needed anything except at shift change. When the RN was doing my admission orders in the room, she got a phone call and stopped my orders and was asking the aide what they were going to have for dinner. Mine you I hadn't eaten yet either. I have no insurance do to a job lay off. Now I am being dunned by the hospital, ancillary departments and physicians for approximately $20000.00 of which I do not have. I know my body and I know when there is something wrong, these "professionals" I assume think that because I don't have letters behind my name I don't know anything. This was probably one of the worse experiences I have had in ages...
