Review content:
How this place has escaped the notice of National Geographic or Smithsonian magazines is beyond me. The permanent collection is extensive and exceptional. The temporary and traveling exhibits are appropriate for a family museum and of excellent quality and reputation. The grounds are beautiful (Forest Park--site of the 1904 World's Fair) and parking is free and generally close to the museum. The museum staff is a little on the "brisk" side, being very quick to reprimand visitors for getting too close to some exhibits or using flash cameras, but perhaps this is necessary to protect a world class art collection from the over-appreciative public which sometimes comes through the museum. Pros: Parking, Free admission, Great art collection Cons: Humidity in summer
