Review content:
I've been to El Gaucho many many times since they re-opened in Belltown. I was just there on Friday night with a large group (16) and was pleased overall, though several in the group were not happy with their steaks. Some comments were: tasteless, grisly, overwhelmed by butter sauce and charred. I have the salmon which was done perfectly and what a generous portion!. The salad 410 was really really good and I highly recommend it as were all the appetizers. (Wicked Shrimp, Crab Cakes and Oysters on the 1/2 shell). The service as usual was great.
I really hope that the quality of steak served is declining because I really like coming to El Gaucho, even though it is an expensive evening.
Pros: romantic, large portions, excellent service
