The place is AWFUL. The pizza was burnt & hardly had any cheese on the pizza. It is a total dive place, & even that is a compliment. We decided to give it a shot being that we had the Entertainment Book coupon for $8 off pizza. So, we go to pay w our $8 off pizza coupon from the EB & the waitress says they cant honor it, as they never told EB to run a coupon! The waitress, Nancy, was very nice & she was just reporting what the owner had told her. The owner's daughter came out & then offered to take $3 off instead & said that I should take it up with EB that she has tried herself with no luck. Really???? So in other words, she would rather upset us & lose customers over $5. SHE needs to take it up with EB. My husband actually owns several restaurants in Chicago & we would NEVER treat a customer like this. It wasn't like I had some computer generated one & tried to use it(we have had customers do that!).This was in The EB for NW suburbs & completely legit. Now, if she didnt authorize them to use her logo & to print coupons, that is 100% between her & the EB & potentially a huge lawsuit. Long story short, I tell her that I will pay the bill minus the $8. She says no & runs our card at the full amount. I cross it out & re-write the amount minus the $8, hand my waitress a $10 cash tip & I tell her that that is all she is getting & she can call the police. At this point, I am wanting a third party to hear how ignorant this woman is.We have 3 kids with us too, & she would STILL like to cause a scene over 5 bucks.Even the waitress was apologizing & offered to pay the $5, but it really wasn't about the $, as I could have certainly given her the $5. It was just that this needed to be settled, so it doesn't happen to someone else. So, EGPD arrive & I explain the situation (what a waste of time for them!) & I, rightfully, depart not paying the $8. I should have known seeing only 3 tables full, including us, at 7pm on a Friday night!!!
