For starters, as mentioned in previous reviews, if you are looking for a good strong and more importantly decently priced drink then The Gay 90s is definitely the place to be. If you like good conversation, an overall friendly atmosphere and a sort of "Cheers-like? feel of camaraderie, then you found it. However, that is where all the praise stops. It has been made public to most that The Gay 90s is now under new management and that the establishment would still welcome GLBT and straight crowds, familiar drinks would still be offered, dinner and entertainment would remain the best there ever was and familiar faces amongst the staff would also go unchanged. With that said, however, many changes have been made ranging from necessary to simply unnecessary. Firstly, drink prices have gone up which is deemed granted. Unnecessarily so, in contrast, new paper towel dispensers and new waste baskets have been added to every restroom in sight. Particularly, these new plush accessories were not free or really even necessary since they waste a lot more paper than save, do not work on a consistent basis and at the end of the day they come with the hefty price of increased drink prices to cover their usage. Furthermore, a new "strictly enforced" dress code has come into effect leaving many bewildered and rather baffled. Meaning, no baggy clothes whatsoever, no untucked shirts, no head scarves, du rags or anything remotely suggesting a hip hop/urban dress. Seems pretty exclusive to particular ethnic groups and individuals doesn't it? It appears that the Gay 90s no longer welcomes everyone as it had originally intended as well as suggested to most. It may look like the same building from the outside, but trust me it no longer has its same friendly familiar appeal. In other words, prepare to see favorite bartenders fired and replaced with new inexperienced ones, soaring drink prices, removal of club card privileges, mandatory cover charges for all, and much much more. Pros: Great Happy Hour and Friendly Staff. Good Variety of Drinks, Menu Options and Entertainment Cons: Ridiculous and Rather Offensive Exclusive Dress Code; Does Not Fully Cater To the Crowds That It Supposedly Used to Cater To--Is No Longer A Place For "Everyone"
