I wanted to like this place. Really I did. I live blocks away and always admired the former Frederick's of Hollywood building. Now, not so much. With the tacky Kress sign and garish purple lighting on the facade it looks like a brothel. I have to agree with the other reviewer that mentioned the cheap furnishings. I was sitting at the bar and literally kicked in some tacky decoration on the bar front...it was plastic! Eww. The best thing about this place are the drinks. The cocktails are made with fresh juices and are amazing. If you get anything here get a cocktail. The food was soo forgettable. 3 of us looked at the menu for 15 minutes and couldn't decide what to order because nothing sounded appetizing. We ended up getting 2 fish and 1 pork entree. Completely bland and forgettable. I had to pour sea salt and wasabi seaweed all over my fish the get any flavor. Add to that the pounding bass from the downstairs club and you've got the worst fine dining experience ever. Also, did we need another sushi restaurant in the neighborhood? Katsuya and Geisha House have much better food, ambiance and decor. It's like the owners didn't do any research. The servers were all so nice, but why do the men have to wear those red bowling shirts?? For a Friday evening the restaurant was dead. The upstairs sushi bar was empty, downstairs was half full and they were filming a reality show at the table next to us to give you an idea of the "celebrities" that come here. And the tragic women at the bar...holy moly...I think the dress code was spandex tube dress. I only went there for dinner so I can't vouch for the club or roof but judging from the crowd I saw I have no interest. Do yourself a favor and eat at Katsuya instead and go to another bar or club. Pros: cocktails, service Cons: food, decor, clientele, pounding bass
