First off, I don't know why it is that I just don't like having dental work done. Regular cleanings are about all I can take. It has nothing to do with the dentist - I just don't like needles stuck in my jaw. However, I do appreciate the gentle nature of Dr. Heck. So, when he said I needed a crown - my first one - sheer panic hit. I put off the appointment until I realized that if I let it go too long, I would be looking at a root canal. I had the crown done this morning and I can honestly say it was no big deal. . .even the shot didn't hurt and that was the part I dreaded the most. Dr. Heck was able to do the entire procedure in one sitting and I left with a permanent crown in place. My mouth is a little sore, but Char, Dr. Heck's compassionate assistant, anticipated that it might happen and told me what to do. I can't say I am looking forward to future crowns, but if they are anything like what I experienced today, I know I am in great hands.
