After one HUGE water bill, 5 free estimates for repair work and an extensive search of google for reviews and better business bureau grades, I chose Plumb Xpress Plumbing in Kennesaw. Estimate 1: Atlantis Plumbing. I contacted Atlantis due to their advertisement that stated sonar use to locate the leaks and free estimates. The technician who came to my property had no idea where the leak was and immediately stated he would need to hammer into the concrete in my garage to locate it. I told him that I had contacted Atlantis due to their advertisement of use of sonar. He stated he didn't have sonar and apologized for the time and contacted his dispatcher and requested the sonar inspection. Alex used sonar to locate the general area of the leak and then stated the invoice would be $300. I paid him though I was never told that there would be a fee by the Atlantis tech. I contacted Atlantis who apologized for the confusion but stated leak detection is a paid service. I was not informed of this in advance. No problem except that after the repairs were completed, this service wasn't even necessary and the $300 was a complete waste of money and did i mention unnecessary. The water mane was rerouted from the area where the leak was altogether. Despite Atlantis Plumbing giving the lowest estimate at around $1150, I had very little confidence in their abilities after two technicians that came and the money wasted. Estimate 2: RooterPlus. The technician, Mitch, was very knowledgeable, gave a wonderful demonstration about the piping to be used, however, spoke in a language that made little sense to me and gave an estimate including many additional services at $3867.68. Although their BBB score was a B+, I easily found 24 complaints on google about this company charging ridiculous fees in addition to their estimate and the technician was even named in one of the negative reviews. They were instantly eliminated. Estimate 3: RoyalFlush Plumbing. Dave was knowledgeable and friendly, however, his estiimate was $1800 for just the mane repair. He stated that I could negotiate if I got lower estimates. I don't tend to do business in this manner. I appreciate that best price right up front. Estimate 4: Aaron's Plumbing gave a fair estimate and I felt great confidence in the technician's knowledge, however, the estimate was given at roughly $1900 for the mane based on the $2700 estimate that include a new installed water heater. He also stated that he "might" be able to knock off $400 off the price, but he wasn't sure. This uncertainty cost them this job. Estimate 5: Plumb Xpress Plumbing. Andy diagnosed my problem with confidence and explained it to me in layman's terms. So when he discussed rerouting the line without having to do a lot of concrete digging, it made perfect sense. He didn't try to use big terminology and didn't try to sell me anything extra. I chose to replace the water heater in addition to the mane repair because I tend to me a bit more pro active and my old one was almost 10 years old. Although the fee to install the new water heater was a bit more than other estimates by $200, he was on the lower end of the mane repair by about $300+ and it balanced out. Unfortunately, Plumb Xpress had no customer reviews and they are not bbb accredited. The quote Andy at Plumb Xpress gave me was 100% of the fee that I was charged. There were no surprises. What he stated needed to be done was done. He completed the job in a day with little disruption of my life and I was able to pay with my credit card. I am pleased to write this 100% positive review of Plumb Xpress Plumbing and hope that it will assist other home owners when choosing a plumber.
