Review content:
Even in better economic times, it's a challenge for me to afford Stephen and Burns. I budget the cost because, try as I may, I have not found the skill and professionalism elsewhere and good grooming is a basic of life, to say nothing of a necessity. This is true in any field in which one interacts with the public, which I do. The pedicure I received on Saturday was performed by someone who had to be coached to make the shape of the nails uniform, and whose clothing was not casual, but slovenly. Her pants were filthy. One of her fake nails was half torn off. This did not inspire confidence. When I requested to receive services in a chair instead of the usual elevated bench, she was at a loss as to how to make the mechanics of the situation work with the stools she had. And, she asked me what time it was. A little thing, but irritating. The entire situation was indicative of a lack of training and coaching. She was very nice and personable but her lack of attention to her own appearance and the conventions of high end salon decorum was shocking to witness at a place like Stephen and Burns. Since I am paying top dollar for services at Stephen and Burns I have an expectation of t's crossed and i's dotted when it comes to the overall experience of the salon. Many thanks.
