Businiess name:  Gobi's Service Inc

Review content:
Brian Gobi operates a service station both competent and honest -- a combination seldom found. An example: I brought my Altima to him and said: "The suspension isn't right. I think I need new struts -- at least". I was ready to spend about $1000. He called me later in the day. "Your suspension's fine. I balanced your wheels. I think you'll be fine now." $35. This is not an isolated instance -- I have consistently been taken aback by the small size of my bills -- and have sometimes felt I had to talk him into doing expensive repairs. I have not once, as I have at so many other service stations, found I've paid for an expensive repair, and still have the problem that brought me there. He diagnoses the problem -- instead of just replacing parts until it works. Perfect? No. He often doesn't return calls -- and often takes longer than he says it will take. That can be a pain -- you have to keep after him (I'm waiting for a call now!) But -- even with the delays, I have saved time overall over my last service station -- because I don't have to keep going back. And -- as crazy as this sounds -- I think I'm spending half what I would be at my old place (because he's less expensive and mostly because he doesn't do unnecessary work). I hesitate to write this -- because, in a way, I don't want more people to know about Gobi's -- but it only seems fair.... Pros: Reasonable prices, expert repairs Cons: Sometimes slow, often doesn't return calls
