Review content:
The Boathouse in Forest Park was a wonderful discovery to make one day for me. We saw people peddling away on the paddle boats and decided to have a go at it, my favorite mode of transportation on the water (i get motion-sick) and a great new one to share with my husband. let me tell you all that paddling is a lot of work on a cool summer day, so much, we were starving when we got off. just as we were figuring out what to do for early dinner, we see the Boathouse Restaurant.
I havent actually eaten a full meal there, so I dont know about the food. However, there, for me, it was all about the ambiance. How absolutely breathtaking it was to sit there on Sat night, watch the sunset, sip such chilled wine, with bread dipped in olive oil and relax to the wonderful beat of Latino music.
They book great bands, piano players and singers almost every time I get down there. And to watch the paddlers and canoers on this small lake, just a paradise on the water. :)
they also have heat lamps for the cool nights, so come out here any time. and in the winter, there's a fireplace inside. and with all this, for brunch, they're pretty friendly to the tots.
