Businiess name:  Fountain of Youth Adult Day
Review by:  Pam W.
Review content:
My mom goes to Fountain of Youth, which has been such a blessing to her and the rest of the family. She has Alzheimers and lives with me; cannot be left alone. FOY enables me to continue working and prevents us from making premature placement in a more institutionalized setting. Our other options would be to use a nursing home and pay the $3000 per month fees, along with the anxiety and misgivings of using that type setting. Another option would be to hire a sitter during the day, but that would mean all my mom would do is sit in front of the TV all day with the same person day in and day out. With FOY, which is the most economical of all options, she gets a day filled with fun activities geared to various levels of mental functioning, loving care from certified nurses aids that are with her constantly....she is not stuck off in a room by herself at ANY point of the day. Community volunteers come and entertain, provide pet therapy, help with arts and crafts, etc. She gets hot meals and snacks. They have "beauty shop" twice a week - Wednesdays is manicure day, and Fridays they wash, set, and style hair!!!! I am confident that my mom is with excellent care while I am at work (or even when I am not at work but just need a respite). To top it all off, she then gets to go home in the evenings to family, her own bedroom, and her CATS that are still a big part of her life. I can't praise this place enough.... It is a United Way non-profit agency.
