On Monday November, 21, 2008 I called ALLIED GLASS to request prices and availability for 4 window panes. The receptionist, Kathy, quoted me a total of $136.00. $16.38 each for 2 panes in a storm window, $50.00 for 1/4" front door window (she stated "that by law, the door window had to be tempered glass") and the balance was for the last window plus tax. When my daughter-in-law took the frames from the storm window in to be fitted, someone else quoted her a higher price totaling over $140.00. After being told for 2 weeks that the glass would be the next day or in a few days, I finally became frustrated and called another glass company, "Blue Star Glass Company", to come and cut and install the windows. When my daughter-in-law went to ALLIED GLASS to retrieve the storm window frames on December 3, 2008 she was told by "Kathy" that the windows had already been installed in the frames and that the "TEMPERED" glass windows (that I DID NOT order) had been installed in the frames and that the price just for those two panes was $90.00. When my daughter-in-law complained about the jacked up price she was told by Kathy to "join the club". ALLIED GLASS employees acted in the most unprofessional manner one could ever experience. ALLIED GLASS deliberately attempted to rip me off by giving me low quotes to lure me into their company then jacked up the price of the glass to extort more money from me. I have cancelled the order from ALLIED GLASS and would NEVER do business with them again nor would I recommend to anyone that they consider doing business with ALLIED GLASS of Cedar Rapids, IA Pros: None Cons: Allied Glass is a rip off with absolutely no consideration for their customers
