Review content:
Boston Wall Beds has probably been bought by The Boston Bed Co. The showroom is in Framingham, MA at the Framingham address of The Boston Bed Co, and the Boston Wall Bed website has a disconnected number, but can still be linked from The Boston Bed Co site. My mom ordered a wall bed in midAugust, paying by check, since they don’t accept American Express. She was given story after story by 5 different employees at the store giving one excuse after another that the bed was not ready yet. (The knobs didn't come from Japan because of the tsunami, the hinge machine in CA broke and people were handmaking hinges; (Per the intaller, there had been a slowdown in hinge mfr. but no one handmade any.) These different explanations were given when she finally got someone to answer the phone and each person seemed to have no record of her prior inquiries. When she left messages, no one called back, except for a call back from the manager, Andrew, who Bertrand says is the owner. Andrew also lied to just put her off. On 12/1 she was advised to threaten the retailer with a complaint with the State Attorney General's office if her wall bed was not delivered by 12/8. She had been told that the installer would need to visit her condo prior to the bed's delivery to be certain that the room was OK for installation, but now he would not be available until after delivery. Bertrand, the installer, is listed in another review site as owner of the wall bed company, but states he is an employee of Boston Bed. Once the bed was delivered,on 12/6, Bertrand phoned and said he was unable to make time to install the bed. She said this was NOT acceptable, and he promised to phone back on 12/8 with an installation time. He did not call until late on 12/8, after the Attorney General's office notified him that she was filing a complaint because the company was not upholding its promise to deliver and install the bed in 4-6 weeks from 8/20's sale date. Do NOT deal with this very unprofessional, uncaring company. And,if you choose to, pay by credit card, so you can dispute the charge. The whole thing seemed like a sham. Her wall bed IS in place, it IS beautiful, but now we've seen comments that the company does not stand behind their warranty. This was a source of great upset for my mom, who had just lost her husband of 51 years. No one should have to badger a retailer to deliver on paid for goods. And, why all the lies? Stay away!
