I have frequented this establishment a few times before but on Friday June 19, 2009, I receiveced less than specatacular service. I was one out of a party of six and we choose to sit out on the patio. Our server informed us that there was only two draft beer selections that were on special when previously there were several options to choose from. For example, the previous time,we came as a party of four on a Wednesday and I got a Magarita on the rocks for a dollar. We eventually stated that we would accept the available draft beers for 1.25. Our server informed us that it would be cheaper to get a pitcher for 3.60. Since two of the six of us werent drinking we agreed. She asked us for id and went to fill our order. Soon after that, another server who we had for a previous visit came out with the pitcher and glasses. She requested our id's once more stating that the other server was about to go home and she would be taking her place.
We placed our food orders and our new server made sure that she had them correct. To make a long story short, our server informed us that the price we were told for the pitcher ended up being incorrect but she would speak with her manager to see if she could honor the price. Once we wrapped up, the server told us that she would have to charge us for the pitcher plus and additional drink. the total ended up be less than $2 however, Mellow Mushroom refused to honor the price that the first server said and told us that they could eat the cost on food but they could not take a loss on the drinks. They did not take a loss on the drinks but they definitely took a loss of six customers who were new to the area who wanted to find a place where they could hang out on Friday nights.
I would suggest in ther future that they train their management staff on how to handle customers with issues such as ours. I would have took the 1.25 loss to keep six customers frequenting my establishment. Needless to say we will not be returning to the Mellow Mushroom in Conyers but will make the trip to Stockbridge instead.
