Businiess name:  A Baker's Wife
Review by:  Trinette K.
Review content:
A Baker's Wife pastry shop, on the corner of 28th Ave S & 42nd St in South Minneapolis, is by far, the best bakery in town. This tiny gem, hidden in a mostly residential neighborhood, offers rich & tasty treats, with friendly service at affordable prices. Unlike other bakeries, which can give you one or the other, A Bakers Wife provides you with fresh, scrumptious, well executed pastries & breads without charging a ton. Their average pastry is only $1.28, for a treat that is more than double the size of something you'd find elsewhere. Moreover, the quality of their baked goods is without fault. Especially noteworthy are their blueberry turnovers, their sour cherry cream cheese danishes, their caramel sticky buns & cinnamon rolls & their American tea cakes. All of these pastries are delightfully tasteful, about the size of Paul Bunyan's palm & fresh daily . The ingredients they use must be amazing, or the recipes flawless. Maybe they make these in small batches. I don't know - I just know this, they're loads better than anything you've tasted before. Also worth mentioning are their donuts - both plain & cinnamon sugar. They're like fair style mini donuts, but without the grease. They are light years lighter & less greasy, but stil have that delicous, crispy on the outside, buttery on the inside taste. Also worth mentioning is their customer service. The guy who owns the place is hilariously great. Every time I go in he's got a HUGE smile on his face, and I think he's truly happy to be there, baking and serving the neighborhood. If you happen to be by the neighborhood, you should stop in and pick up a pastry - you'll never go anywhere else again.
