Review content:
The Red Avocado is a great place with a winsome name...though their vegetarian fare can be called anything BUT winsome. I have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions when shopping in the downtown area and I have been impressed with the service as well as the food.
I have always been greeted with a smile and asked how my day was before ordering. The food is a great change of pace from red meat and while I like my steak like most "corn fed" Iowans....I would definitely drive the distance to visit this place again.
Located on East Washington Street, it is easily accessible from campus and a short walk from about any parking venue around. While parking is usually a challenge in downtown Iowa City, this restaurant is worth the walk should parking prove to be hard to locate.
Next time you are in the downtown area, I invite you to stop by THE RED AVACADO and see what they have to offer...who knows, you might see me sitting there...:-)........
